"Each generation has different ways of thinking and acting. The important thing is that we open up to understand them."
1. Gen Z - A Generation of New Bravery and Aspiration:
When mentioning Gen Z, many people often associate them with phrases like "instinctive living", "emotional", "overconfident", or "lacking loyalty". But perhaps, we are looking at this generation through the eyes of the previous generation, not being fair enough to the spirit and context in which they grew up. Gen Z is the generation born with technology, where all information is just a touch away. They grew up in a volatile era, witnessing the world change day by day - from how to learn, how to work, to how to connect. Therefore, they do not accept "following the mold", but always want to try, fail, learn, and do it again.
2. It's Not That Gen Z Lacks Loyalty - They Are Only Loyal to True Values:
If the previous generation was loyal to a "stable job", Gen Z is loyal to the meaning of the work. They don't leave a company because they are bored, but because they don't see the goal. They are ready to dedicate themselves to an organization that brings:
- Health Prosperity - A healthy, balanced, non-exhausting work environment.
- Family Prosperity - Being themselves, being respected, not being forced into a mold.
- Financial Prosperity - Recognition worthy of their value and efforts.
Gen Z does not chase fame. They seek truth and value.
3. What Should Businesses Do to Retain Gen Z?
- To attract and retain this generation, businesses need to shift their perspective from "managing" to "partnering": Create a transparent, open environment where they have a voice. Gen Z respects the truth. They want to know "why", not just "what to do". An organization transparent about goals, results, and decision-making will always be trusted by them.
- Empower and encourage creativity: They want to try, to fail, and to learn from mistakes. Don't confine them in rigid processes - give them space to express their personality and develop their capabilities.
- Build a culture of recognition: A compliment, a small recognition also makes Gen Z feel valued. They don't just need a high salary - they need to be seen, listened to, and respected.
- Engage with shared goals: Gen Z works best when they believe their work is meaningful. Tell them the mission, values, and positive impact of the business on society.
Gen Z is not hard to understand - they just need to be understood correctly. "They are not like us – because they were born to go further than us." The Gen Z generation is the future of the country - those who carry a technological mindset, a creative spirit, and a heart directed towards true values. Don't try to force them into old molds. Let them become the best version of themselves, in an organization that never stops developing.
